Want a Glimpse of Dubai?

Just a few decades ago, Dubai was an under-the-radar fishing village on the Persian Gulf. The discovery of oil changed everything, and the boom transformed this humble emirate into a mega-wealthy metropolis of extremes. You can still see hints of old world charm there, but most people remark about Dubai’s ultra-modern architectural feats, outlandish shopping malls and outrageous attractions that strive to be the biggest, best and most over-the-top on the planet. It is home to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest sky scrapper, and Burj Al Arab, the world’s most luxurious hotel. You may be turned off by Dubai’s obnoxious wealth, but you have to admit, it’s an enigmatic destination of contrasts like no other. Some consider it akin to the Vegas of the Middle East.
